Long Beach Harbor with Shanna

A beautiful day with the temperature in the low 90's.  Shanna's here for the weekend.  We already went out to breakfast, strolled around the Peninsula checking out local plants, guess it's time to slather on sunscreen and go for a boat ride!

We followed the shore for awhile, hoping to see the dolphins we see from the shore, but no such luck.

This looks like a shot of the oil island, but really ...

there were rafts of ducks with their necks sticking up!

And speaking of necks. . .  this sea lion was really enjoying his spot.

Lots of the buoys where usually large boats are moored were empty.  Except for the sea lions, that is...

For awhile the wind died down and we just bobbed in the water.   But then we picked up some wind and headed for home.

A really nice sail.
